Edu Assist

Langlaagte Church Trust has as its primary activity the provision of learning material to underprivileged children, especially from the past and present Migrant Labour System.

LCT identify the needy directly in and around Squatter Camps and Hostels in JHB and in other areas, through its network with a number of NPO's in Soweto, Orange Farm and Swanneville. Currently the number of needy equals 1700.

No funds is given to organizations for this, rather LCT make all purchases and distribute material.

The Edu Assist Program

The Edu Assist Program has given rise to a number of other activities that LCT also got involved in as can be seen in the above diagram. This is our Holistic Approach to the wellbeing and development of the child. It includes addressing the following:

• The Academic improvement
• The Mentality
• The Spiritual
• Addressing the other Social Imbalances

The Holistic Approach can drive us to provide in the need of the family or community outside of the primary objective including:

• Build multi purpose centre for a group
• Provide food supply
• Provide clothing and blankets
• Help fix place of dwelling
• Tools and fencing for gardening
• Urban Ministry
